A lot of musicians would like to call themselves "the best band in Ottawa" but only Stone Melodies earned that right fair and square.
The foursome -- singer Ben Cooper, guitarist Luke Paluch, bassist Jason Leblanc and drummer Jamie Urie -- beat out 88 other local bands to win the Ottawa portion of the Emergenza International Festival. The three-night competition was held at the Rainbow and Barrymore's between February and June.
