Ever since the Junos debuted 32 years ago, the award ceremony has often been referred to as Canada's answer to the Grammys. But in recent years, Canadian artists have eked out enough of a perennial identity at the American awards ceremony that the description may soon become obsolete.
Avril Lavigne, Canada's favorite sassy popster with five Grammy nominations this year, and Winnipeg's Remy Shand, who has four Grammy nods, will both perform at the 2003 Juno show to be hosted by five-time Grammy winner, Shania Twain on April 6.
